When replacing the automatic transmission (AT) on BMW E, F, and G series vehicles, it's essential to perform software adaptation to match the new transmission to your vehicle.
This is necessary because used transmissions have an individual ISN (Individual Serial Number) code already programmed, which is tied to the original vehicle it came from. If the ISN in your car doesn't match the ISN in the replacement transmission, the car will not allow the transmission to engage and the vehicle won't start moving.
