FA by VIN
What is FA by VIN used for?
FA (Vehicle Order) is a file containing the factory configuration of a BMW vehicle. It includes key information about the model, production date, market and the options with which the vehicle left the factory.
FA is used in E-Sys when coding and programming electronic control units. If the vehicle was previously programmed, its configuration was modified or other software work was performed, the factory FA may have been changed or lost. As a result, control units may be coded using an incorrect configuration and certain vehicle functions may not operate correctly.
A restored factory FA allows the original vehicle configuration to be recovered and used in E-Sys for further work.
Information about the vehicle software level and the electronic control units originally installed at the factory can also be provided upon request. To request this information, contact us through the website form.
How does it work?
- 1
Enter the vehicle VIN in the form on the BIMFIX website.
- 2
Submit the order. The VIN will then be checked and processed.
- 3
Once the check is complete, you will receive the payment details.
- 4
After payment, you will receive an FA file containing the vehicle's original factory configuration.
- 5
The received FA can be loaded in E-Sys and used for coding, programming or restoring the correct vehicle configuration.
