Repair 1CR
Why does remote engine start stop working?
If the vehicle has option 1CR (remote engine start), any modification to the DME flash file — including a power increase, disabling the fuel tank ventilation system, disabling fault codes or other software changes — causes remote engine start to stop working.
After the modified flash file is written, the engine continues to operate, but the 1CR remote engine start function becomes unavailable.
1CR restoration requirements
- The vehicle must have factory-activated option 1CR — Remote Engine Start.
- The DME flash file must be exactly 8 MB in size. Files of any other size are not suitable.
- The flash file must be read on the bench in Bench mode.
- Only DME control units with an Infineon TC298 processor are supported.
How to restore 1CR
- 1
Enter the vehicle VIN. In the second step, select a communication channel, enter the corresponding contact and choose a payment method.
- 2
Upload the flash file read from the DME engine control unit.
- 3
After submission, the file is checked and processed. Once the check is complete, you will receive the payment details.
- 4
After payment, you will receive the restored flash file. The required software changes have already been applied and the checksums recalculated.
- 5
Write the received flash file back to the corresponding DME. After it has been written successfully, the
1CRremote engine start function will operate again.
